Fred,

Thanks for your vote of confidence.

However, I may have used up that  .3%... Johnny is right (fact) about there being 9 Sophomore princesses that year.  Eight were listed in the El Coyote as 'Sophomore' princesses next to their names.  What faked me out were the F.F.A. princesses with the absence of their class year.  Susan Wilmot was a Junior that year and I assumed the same for Anita Patterson (whom if you look in the year book was also a Sophomore). Nice going Johnny!  Such trickery may get you a surprise this Halloween.

Pat,

You still have any of that bulk toilet paper left over from decorating friend's homes last year...?  ha

James Melvin Melson, 73, was born June 27, 1945, in Roswell, NM, and passed away September 27, 2018, in Plano, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby Olivia Melson and William Arthur Melson. He is survived by his brother Bill Melson and wife Marise of San Antonio, TX, nephew Michael Melson and wife Lia Trevino of Austin, TX, and niece Amanda Melson and husband Robert Powers of Brooklyn, NY.

Jim attended New Mexico Military Institute and University of New Mexico, and played football at both. He graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a double major in accounting and computer science. Jim excelled in athletics with an emphasis on football which he played from Junior High School through college. He had an exciting, successful and rewarding career in the computer business with his most recent stints in military applications.  His family and friends will dearly miss his warmth, good humor and Texas-sized laugh.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 2:00 pm, at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street, Plano, Texas.

REX are those cloned sheep from the mother ship?

Rex Booth

Some who wear tinfoil hats believe, during his abduction, El Juan was cloned. Something went haywire... sheep were the result. As Jeff Foxworthy prophesized: “They walk among us…”

The news had an article about the "Real Peggy Sue" that Buddy Holly sang in 1958.

Fred,

Ahso.  Japanese for you betcha...!!  Now you gotta answer the fiction or fact question and why.

William (Bill) Atchley

Fred: Robert Nelson, the much beloved Robert Nelson, was dubbed “Slick” before my class of RHS 60 arrived on the scene.  This nom de plume was apparently given him soon after he arrived at RHS.  He was called “slick” presumably because he combed his hair down tightly on his head using mucho Brylcreme or Vitalis so that he looked like a peeled onion.  Obviously you knew this by just looking at him.  This way his hair didn’t blow in the wind!  But then he might have been called “slick” because of his personality 😇.

10/06/18 04:12 PM #5054

Fred Miller

Bill, good to hear from you.  I think we all posed several reasons for calling him "Slick".  I even remember hearing something about a snake oil saleman.

Joe Treat

I remember that someone spelled out “Slick” on his lawn with ice cream salt.
