Place of Worship: Where Druids held séances.  Just kidding.  It was a 'non-denominational' church at Walker Air Force Base.

Osteopathic hospital aka house of pain. In the 8th grade at North, my foot was stepped on playing basketball, resulting in a ingrown toe-nail. Never having one before, I didn't do anything. Finally, it got so infected I was taken here. Due to their "beliefs" or training of which they did not use drugs, my toe was sprayed with something to make it cold and then the PROBLEM was cut out. I have never since allowed this problem to develop again!!! And have avoided osteopaths... though I do go to chiropractors occasionally now. According to my UHC insurance they are considered specialists now (like heart doctors?), though 15-20 years ago they were just quacks!!

Rex, sorry to inform you, but back in the day, GAY had other meanings than now... My uncle was (and still is) quite the lady's man...cheeky I'm serious, no gaiety meant!!!!

ps When did we get to be drinking buddies??? I forget things now in my advanced teenior years

Sorry guys.  I went to the hospital before you did.  I was born there.  My doctor was L.D. Barbour.  My mother took his middle name and it became my first name.  His youngest son became one of my best friends.  Johnny.

Tennesee 'Ridgerunner' Landess,

How in the world could you forget one of your (many) drinking buddies?!!  S'pose it could be all that 'alky-haul' which killed them-thar brain cells?  You really go to a 'Broke-back' chiropractor?  Be careful... don't ever bend over to pickup your wallet if one is standing behind you.  frown

The Cyettes?   Wasn't this paticular group the Chordettes?

Left to right:  Barbara (Bubbles) Lankford, Martha Key, Sally Woicikowfski, and Charlotte Adams

Come on Ladies!   Are you too busy making pumpkin pies...?  Ya need ta chime in more often!!  smiley

Saundra Bennett (Whiteside)

Hmmm?  I was thinking they we’re called the Chordaires???

Diane Alley ((Webb))

SSaundra and all the Cyettes inclused six girls.
Martha Key, Sharon Montgo
Ery, Vicki Lorton, Sally Woicikowfski,Emily Paul, and Bubble Lankford. The group could have been different prior to our Senior year.

Saundra Bennett (Whiteside)

Thank you, Diane.  I can’t always trust my memory.  I should have looked it up!...ha

Saundra,

I would agree, the  Chordaires sound more like the group of Four in this picture.  This is one of Johnny's private collections not found in our yearbooks... he's clever eh what?  The Corv-air auto came out about this time.  It makes sense to pick a cool sounding name like Chord-aires.

Fact or Fiction:   The Cyettes.  Come on girls, give it a shot !!

Diane,  what the heck is a cyette...?

10/28/18 08:23 AM #5119

John Landess

Rex, obviously you are confused about alky haul and brain cells. It is a well known fact that alcohol only kills the slowest and weakest brain cells, so the more you drink, the smarter you get! (Cliff Clavin)

I believe a Cyette may be a baby cyclone, something that stirs things up but doesn't do permanent damage!! kinda like them gals thar!

10/28/18 08:42 AM #5120

Saundra Bennett (Whiteside)

All indications point to Cyettes being fact, but I’m going to take a chance, and go way out on a limb...& say fiction.  There.....just for the heck of it!   Ha

Saundra aka  Annee Okee,

Way to go girl!  I spoke with Charlotte this AM.  Charlotte had 'total recall' of her group's name: 'Chordaries'.

The Buffalo Theory...

Well, you see, "John L",  it’s like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it’s the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alky-haul kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.  And that, John L... is why you always feel smarter after a few beers...

Notice Cliff said it's beer that makes you smarter... but that 'white lightnin' yer grandpappy brews up in them-thar Ten-see hills not only kills healthy brain cells, it'll cause hair to grown in the palms of yer hands and worse yet...curvature of the spine. Which why you have to go to a broke-back chiropractor...

Well, I’ll be....this was my lucky week!  Do I get another gold star?  Guess my memory is better than I thought.  ðŸ˜Š

Just to stir the pot a bit look in the annual at page 42.
As I remember the Chordaires were the smaller group and sang at some out of school functions. I think there is not a wrong answer to this question.

Two gold stars....yay!  It’s the little things in life. Thank you, John!

Diane, it was kind of a tricky question.

In my mind's eye there is only one answer to this particular fact or fiction question.  Saundra is spot on.  Five Stars! smiley

Johnny (Sherlock) A...

Fact or Fiction:  'Ahso' is a Japanese word used mostly in the northern district of Tokyo.  While the word 'Yay-us' is used by southern folks south of the Mason Dixon.

Just for fun, a few months ago, Johnny and I drove around Roswell and took a few pictures of buildings. The picture on the 'Home Page'  is one.  City of Roswell is scheduled to demolish this building.  crying

Can any of you name it ??
