The funny (which is not funny) part about the Smoke is you didn't see people smoking

The older school picture with long slide was used for a 'fire escape' from the 2nd floor.  The kids had a great time during a fire drill !!  

The guys I knew who also went to this boys reformatory school were:  Allensworth, Allen brothers, Jerry Floyd, Verlon, Jimmy & Tommy Qualls, Don Ervin,  and Doug Pulley.

Kay, I am with you and Diane ~ the friendships we have made and kept during the years are amazing and I treasure everyone of them.  I hope all of you have had a Happy Thanksgiving and the Christmas Holidays are the same!!

Though I was a Johnny come lately re-acquainting with RHS friends, I am thankful that I did.

Again, I hope that everyone had a super Thanksgiving with friends and family. I did!

I spent it with my sons and their families in Santa Fe and in Albuquerque. A Real New Mexico Thanksgiving... The turkey tacos were great, but I am not too big on the cranberry burritos! Unfortunately, I won't have time this trip to drop down to Roswell to visit with all my old "drinking" buddies....Sorry Rex!

Also, I will be missing my son in Albuquerque's commissioning ceremony next week. He is popping up from 1st Sergeant to 1st lieutenant at Kirkland. Notice came suddenly and quickly, but I am proud even if I can't make it. He will be moving from combat engineering to JAG (he is the attorney in the family)

Well, only 30 more days until Christmas!!!!!

Glad to hear everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.  We went down to our son in law and daughter's  house in Rockport, Tx. right on the Gulf.  Rockport took a direct hit from Hurricane Harvey 14 months ago.  The city is recovering quickly.

The week before, I was actually in Roswell for 4 days visiting my Mom who was just moved into the Bee Hive Home facility.  She is really enjoying making new friends and the activities. 

Rex and I had planned on getting together for coffee or lunch and a BS session....but I wound up spending the majority of time with Mom and my brother Ron.  Sorry, Rex, that we could not make the connection.  We did have a good game of phone tag...!

Chrys Harris is a long time dear friend of Charlotte who traveled from Denver with Charlotte for our 55th Class Reunion.  Chrys asked me to post this for Charlotte's 'close' friends on the forum.

Dear friends of Charlotte, 

Charlotte has moved into an apartment at Balfour Senior Living.  It was a difficult transition but she is settling in more each day. The Senior living apartment is very nice and offers many activities for Charlotte!  Charlotte appears to be happier now than she has been for a long time.

Please pass her address to all of her friends on your list.  Next Wednesday Dec. 5th is Charlotte’s 75th birthday, it would be wonderful if you could send her a card to let Charlotte know she is not forgotten.

That was so nice of Chtys to send the letter to you to post, and thank you for passing it on to us. We hope Charlotte knows how highly we think of her!  Pleased she is adjusting to her new living situation.  I have a birthday card ready to put in the mail tomorrow, and will try to send other cards periodically.

Yes,  'Sirius' by the Alan Parsons project is a great opening instrumental!  My son recorded 'Sirius' onto video tapes of my grandson's national Judo completions.  However, you 'Sirus-ly' need to check your cell's 'greeting' cuz dis be what I hear when calling yo numbah...

All seems to be fine on the Alaska home front. My "baby" sister drove up the hill to check out my "tiny" house and said all looks fine. The Kenai Peninsula has as usual had few problems from the shakes. In our area, the ground is laid over hundreds of feet of gravel, which works somewhat as a shock absorber. In the Anchorage area, there is a great layer of clay and other fines, which liquidfy or just slump in a quake. Since the BIG one in 1964, most of new construction there meets stringent quake requirements. But nothing can withstand ol' Mother Nature when she really wants to show her power!!

Oh well, just another day in the Alaska annual record of 40,000 earthquakes a year.Thanks for asking,

and this would be a good time to hear  a little Jerry Lee Lewis and a "whole lot of shaking going on"!!
