A few classmates have asked about the “registration form” for our 60^th RHS Class Reunion. The form has been available since June on our RHS website “Home Page”.

Go to “Home Page” for ‘registration’ and/or look to column on the left, and see “60^th Reunion Registration”. Clicking it takes you to a “registration” page.  Follow the instructions closely and click “Download”.  A copy of the registration form appears which allows printing of the form. 

Should one have difficulty printing the form, go the “Home Page”, scroll down, and click “Contact Us” to get assistance. If a classmate prefers, we can have registration form(s) mailed to you.

#25  is still a mystery!!

Here is the original question...

Could this be #25 who played Howler basketball in 1960 at RHS ??? 

According to sources, he played ‘Varsity’ basketball, graduating in Van Nuys, California in 1962. Was it possible #25 moved from Roswell and finished high school in California? 

Well folks, the plot thickens...

Can anyone Name this "Celebrity" ?   Hint:  He’ is also basketball player #25...!

Are you kidding me???  Are you saying #25 who went to our school is TOM SELLECK???  Can't be.  Did some research and he grew up in Sherman Oaks, California.  He sure looks like him.

Before we leave the subject of green chilis, if you are ever in Ruidoso, try the green chili fries at Caliente Grill.  They are served with chipotle ranch dressing!  They are delicious and addictive!  Better than french fries in my opinion!

Rex, I am stumped regarding number 25!  I do think he looks somewhat like Parsy's suggestion....Tom Selleck!
Kinda hoping that it is him...pretty cool!

Saundra,  our fast food places in Carlsbad serve what they call texas toothpicks which are the same thing and they are so good they are sold out on a regular basis  They are good dipped in almost any dip including ranch dressing.  You can't go to amy grocery store here right now without coming away drolling because all are roasting  Hatch green chilies  Some are so hot even one in a big pot of beans is so hot even hot eaters can' eat them.

Patsy has correctly named #25 celebrity Tom Selleck who graduated 1962, same year as our RHS class.

And kudos to Saundra for her input on Magnum P.I. as well! 

This 'Prize" is something Patsy can stick in her ‘burgeoning’ scrapbook along with other Tom Selleck pictures!!

Tom Selleck, oh my goodness!  I hope he enjoyed his time at Roswell High!  He must have been shy and reserved, or more people would have remembered him.  Guess the mystery of #25 is solved!  You did good, Patsy!

John, those Texas Toothpicks sound great!  If I make it back to Catlsbad someday, I will definitely check them out!  Thanks for sharing!

Ok everyone!  How did you prove that Tom Selleck once lived in Roswell? I'm very skeptical but I'm all ears for some proof. From what I can find he lived in California from the age of 3 so what's up y'all?

I have to go with Paula on this.  Selleck moved from Detroit to Sherman Oaks, CA in 1948. He has basically lived there all his life except when he lived in Hawaii during Magnum PI.

Maybe #25 was cloned from Selleck. They do favor each other, but the hairline is slightly different...

"Mike Truelove",  "Jimmy Qualls" or maybe "Roy McKay"???

Thanks Fred and Sherry!  Maybe #25 was a guy whose dad was stationed at the base and was in Roswell for a very short time. Just a thought!!

Rex, being Rex, has been pulling our collective legs. Go back and read his questions about #25 and take a second look at the pictures he posted.

#25 in Rex's post #6784 is the RHS Howler #25 we have been trying to identify for some time now.  He really does not look like Selleck.. See below.

#25 in Rex's post #6778 is in fact the real Tom Selleck. It is cropped from a larger team picture of the 1962 varsity team of Grant HS in Van Nuys. See below.

Thanks for your additional research and sharing wise wisdom and sage advice re: #25. You are right!  If you go back and re-read the original post it only compares Roswell’s #25 to Van Nuys #25... it is a comparison only because both players wore the same #25. Using words like: "Could it be" or "Is it possible" are only suggestive in nature and it DID have a profound effect on those who secretly wished that Magnum P.I. had attended Roswell!  We had a lot of interest with wishful thinking and by the way, hats off to all who participated ! Was Great Fun!

On the other hand, I'm beginning to think 'we' may eventually be looking under rocks for the answer to #25.  "Only the Shadow Knows..."

RHS Reunion Registration (Deadline)

Classmates! The deadline for registration is fast approaching… August 19!!

Please fill out your registration today and put it in the mail as soon as possible!

Our goal is to obtain a reasonable count of all persons attending! This helps determine the amount of food the Country Club will need to prepare.

This is another important part of our class reunion planning, so we are requesting anyone who wants to attend… please do not wait till the "eleventh hour" to register!

As always our RHS reunion will be a special treat for our classmates to join together and enjoy sharing old times and renewing friendships!

Number 25 is Orlando Gomez.  He played JV his Sophamore year and Varsity his Jr and Senior year  His team pictures are in the 61 and 62 varsity basketball pictures.  Rex changed his head in the JV Pictures  and even deleted all his info from his Senior picture.  He played college basketball at ENMU .He was a super nice guy and I'm sorry he was the victom of Rex'sFiasco   MK

I really hate to bring up painful things from the past, but as rumored, Mack tried out for Howler baskeball but was not picked. And was passed up by (you guessed it) none other than #25 who got the starting position on the basketball team. About the claim by Mack.. that Orlando was #25...?  I plan to talk soon with Orlando about it...

Dolls and Gents!

The  registration deadline for our RHS Reunion was Friday 19th!  The executive committee decided to extend the deadline for another week which is Friday 26th.

We hope this extention will help those who have not made plans yet, but still wish to attend our 60th RHS 1962 Class Reunion!

We will meet with the Country Club at the end of this month to give them an estimate of classmates attending. The end result IS the amount of food prepared.

So... All Y'All, send those cards and letters right on in... with those hot checks too!!
