Potatoes make chips, French fries, and vodka.  It's like the other vegetable aren't even trying...

"Vitis Vinifera" the fruit that tries to please the palate and goes down soooo easily...

Remember that old song "Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee O'Dee" ?                          Jerry Lee Lewis would be proud!

Well I am German, Scott, Irish and Southern USA!!
Does that count!! If it's OK I'll take a nice glass of
chilled Barefoot Moscato. Thank-You!! wink

Sherry, yes you do qualify. Too bad about having to settle for 'grape juice' instead.  The cutoff time to post was at noon today, not at "happy hour"... smiley    ~ The Shadow

Well, I guess that I will have to pass on the drinking, though I am part of the 3 mentioned. Also part Cherokee though, and nobody like a drunken "native American". I think there was a book and a movie referencing that, more or less! (Flap)

AND Sherry, the high sugar content in moscato will definitey be bad for your teeth!

A Happy and Blessed Easter to all.

You meet your 18 year old self.

You are allowed to say three words.

What do you say...

Does anyone remember Troy Irvine in South Jr. High.  He was there for several years then moved away and no one could locate him in Arizona where he supposedly moved.   Now many years later, in the very small world, my son is engaged to a niece of Troy in Missoula Montana.  She says that Troy passed away some years ago.  He had a difficult time as he was gay and his family would not accept him.

Joe, I remember Troy well.

In my 5th and 6th grade Missouri Avenue day, he was one of a half-dozen or so schoolmates I considered a friend and played with after school. I've got nothing but good memories of Troy.

It's sad that one's sexual orientation becomes a problem. It's unfortunate Troy had to go through this.

Thanks for your "it's a small world" story.

Joe and Patrick, I did not know Troy but I can
understand finding "Long Lost Friends"!
It is sad when you find out they have gone
through things with family and/or friends and
are not be accepted for who they are.

Nancy and I agree that the best dog breed is Rescue.  Meet Toby, our Affenpincher. We have had him about a year now. Where ever he decides to lay down in the house, he has to gather his toys around him.  He weighs 12 lbs.  His best bud is our 80 lb Black Lab...

Fred,

I have been looking for a Rottweiler-Collie mix.

They will tear the leg off any intruders, but then go for help!!wink

I had a dog named Red. He was mixed Chow and Shepard. A Chow's tail curles up in a semi-circle on their back. The Chinese used Chow as sled dogs in Northern China.  Marco Polo noted this during his travels between Italy and China known as the Silk Road.

Fred,  I'd try to make friends with an 80 pound black Lab reeel kwik!!!

I had a black Tea Cup Poodle her name was "Bug".smiley
My niece had her Brother his name was "Killer" wink

Sherry,

"Bug" is a cute name for a tea cup poodle. Speaking of Killer...

Jerrry Lee Lewis nickname was "Killer" due to his reputation with ladies. Flip Wilson played the part as Geradine and called the boyfirend "Killer". "If you not careful, I's gonna sic 'Killer' on ya"!  wink

Do you have any pictures of "Bug you could post"?  cheeky

Fred, any pics of that black Lab?

Any others?

I am lucky in that I married a woman who loves dogs as much as I do.  We always have 2 or 3 at any time. During our marriage, we have had almost 25 dogs.  Each one was a dog nobody else wanted.  Once they realize they are now in their forever home, they become a new dog.

Count the small flower gardens behind our house.  Each one marks a grave.  The 2 shown below were inseparable, Maggie on the left, Willie on the right.  Their ashes are in boxes beside each other on a shelf next to my desk.  Their collars are intertwined and lay on top of the boxes.

I'm sorry I don't have a picture of bug.
She was born in 1983 and  passed to
doggie heaven in 1996. I went through
all my pictures years ago and split them
up between my children. We didn't take
pictures as we do now with our phone
always ready for those special ready!
My grandson who is now 42 used to
run up and down our hallway with the
dog chasing each other! What fun Memories!!

Fred, I have seen that expression before!!

wink
