Regina Napier Nelson

As with most of my classmates, I've spent my time fulfilling many roles. I am a wife, mother, student, friend, teacher, employee, catering manager, good cook, artist, floral arranger, etc. In all these roles, I've sought the artistic approach and outlook. Since I've retired, I spend most of my time taking care of my family and pursuing artistic endeavors....I live and breathe art...I am a watercolor artist and also very active in jewelry floral design.

I am very fortunate to have a wonderful husband and family, as well as an exceptional extended family. It's always our pleasure to host many family get togethers to celebrate all birthdays and holidays. We always have theme parties and try to make certain that everyone in our family/extended family knows that they are truly loved and appreciated.

I was in the RHS band and we had gone to Portales to compete in the annual music festival. We had all worked very hard with Mr. Summersgill, our band director, and Bill Worrell, our band president and drum major (the finest drum major I've ever seen in my life) preparing for this competition. Our hard work paid off with our band being rewarded with the highest ranking. We were all elated of course. When we arrived back in Roswell, we were met with a police escort for celebratory procession back to RHS. It was awesome for all of us because we knew why the police were escorting us. However, from the stares we received from the kids dragging Main Street, it was a 'wide-eyed, oh my gosh, what did they do......and how much trouble are they in' expression !! I dearly treasure my band memories.
