Jimmy Robert Webb Sr.

Jimmy Robert Webb Sr., age 68, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in Odessa, TX. He was born November 7, 1943 in Hagerman, NM to Robert Oliver and Carmenettia (Robison) Webb.

Jimmy was a retired firefighter (30 + years) and a member of the Texas State Firefighter Association. He began his career at Texas New Mexico Power Company as a lineman and over a 36 year career reached the level of Regional Manger at his retirement. He was a 30 + year member of both the Lions Club and the Rotary Club. He loved going to auctions where he found many treasures, working with wood, playing dominoes with his buddies and drinking coffee.  Jimmy’s heritage was important to him. He was a proud Citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and spent much time researching his family genealogy.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son: Jimmy Webb Jr. and wife Amanda of Monteray, CA; two daughters: Tammy Coleman and husband Allen of Odessa, TX and Shonda Dolloff and husband Robert of Canyon, TX; one sister: Gladys Haygood and husband David of Norwood, MO; and five grandchildren: Brianna, Brenden, Tara, Wyatt and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Carmenettia, brother: Dale Webb and very special friend: Judy Perry Greer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 – 6 pm on Sunday, December 18, 2011. Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 19, 2011 at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit, TX with Brother Randy Bush officiating. Pallbearers will be Members of the Kermit Volunteer Fire Department and the Rankin Volunteer Fire Department.  Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jack Snell, Tim Potter, Merle Hall, David Black, Ron Roberts and Bruce Winn.  Interment will follow at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, TX. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kermit Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 262, Kermit, TX 79745 or Rankin Volunteer Fire Department PO Box 602, Rankin, TX 79778 or the American Kidney Fund 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010 Rockville, MD 20852.
