Barney was a long-time friend of mine. My family became friends of the Durham's when I was about ten years old. I remember when Barney's dad Melvin owned Durham's Used Car on South Main at the Y just south across from Wylies Drive-In. Durham's used car lot is where Barney and all his brothers learned the art of 'horse trading'. One memorable time was in 1960 when the Durham's, my mother and I travelled to Van Nuys, California to visit his sister Cyloma. We had a great time. Barney's mother Nora let me drive their white 1959 Cadillac on the way back from LA all the way to Phoenix. Made me feel like a million dollars!  Barney and his family were most generous by nature, helping others who were in need. I will miss Barney... my friend.
