This is dedicated to Bob G, Bill T, Dandy Don, and  J. Cash including others which time does not permit. From an old Hank Snow song.

Karla White (Dellner)

I attended college at Utah State in Logan, Utah. Upon graduation I taught junior high school English and Art in a town not far from Logan. I stayed in Logan until my husband returned from Viet Nam. We were both chomping at the bit to get out of Utah!

We both managed to get jobs in a large suburban school district, so we moved to Carmichael, CA, a suburb of Sacramento where we both taught high school.

After I re-married, my present husband and I moved to the foothills (Think "gold country") where we built a house that we have lived in for 40 years.

We save our "Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss" activity for travel! We love our adventures; however, it's so nice to come home after a busy, exciting trip to far-away places!

Places lived in after Roswell.

Lafayette, Indiana, Sunray, Tx,  Dumas, Tx, Santa Fe.  California cities: Bakersfield, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Los Angeles, San Diego, El Cajon, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Discovery Bay.  Barcelona, Spain, Santa Cruz, Ca before moving back to the Promised Land… Roswell.

Gee whiz, Charline… if I knew you, Dick, and Perrine lived in the Bay area in the late ‘60’s,  I’d have invited all y’all to come down to visit your sister college UCSC on the Hill, then watch the ‘annual’ parade downtown Santa Cruz protesting the Miss California Pageant, all while eating quiche and quenching thirsty throats over bottles of Zin at the Cooper House.  Remember Black Panther Angela Davis got a job teaching at UCSC over the vehement objections of president Ronald Reagan.  Them were the years…  here comes the thumb!   no   ha!

Places lived after Roswell.  Allbuquerque for UNM, Dong Tam, Viet Nam, Columbus, Georgia until out of the damned army, Flagstaff, AZ to NAU, Ranch near Corona, NM, then to Clovis, NM for work, then transferred to Farmington, NM, Finally to Santa Fe.

Teacher, really liked Mr. Zoodsma who taught speech and drama, Rivien? Landes for biology, Mr. Coffman for sociology, Janie L. Seeger really annoyed me in English.  I think I did learn, though have since forgotten, how to use commas.  And also liked Miss Merkle, though I never got above a C in her class. I do rememberr still some bits and pieces of Latin.

Soccoro NM summer of ’62 rooming with Truelove, Kizer and Taylor (Gene)  while working for Armstrong Construction Co. Then on to Las Cruces NM attending NMSU and rooming at various times with Don Wolf, Chick Montgomery, Robert Holmes and various misfits from Carlsbad, Albuq, and Santa Fe. After graduation  from NMSU on to Walnut Creek, Calif and commuted to Oakland and San Fransisco for job training with Shell Oil Co. What a culture shock for a guy from small town NM. Couldn’t believe first trip to Haight Asbury district of SF. Was that Turley nodding off on the street corner???-----Nah, guess not. After that went to work assignments with Shell in Phoenix, Los Angeles , Houston, Denver , Atlanta and back to Houston where I am now. Lots in international travel to Mid East and Latin America with Shell but never got assigned to live there.

Almost forgot, typing teacher, Bobbie Pherigo.  She gave me a skill that kept me out of active combat in the army and I have put to use all my life.

After graduation, I lived in Nacogdoches,TX, back to Roswell.  Off to Clovis, and then Amarillo, El Paso for 3 years...and then Dallas for 6 month, and then Ft. Worth.....and finally Sherman, TX....all with Commercial Credit Corp.

After 3 years as a Loan Mgr. with CCC in Sherman, I got a call from the President of a local community bank offering me a job interview.  I became a banker in 1974, and the President, Jerry Talley, became my mentor.  I spent 14 years with Grayson Bank.

I have lived within 4 miles of Sherman since 1970.....but I have also worked in Bells, TX....and my last job was with JPMorgan Bank in Dallas for 17 years with a lot of travel to Houston.  Commuting is my middle name.

Mack Kizer

I was sitting in my livingroomTuesday watching tv when someone knocked on the door.  I got up and went to the door.  The man standing there said he was looking for Mack Kizer.  I said thats me, what do you need.  He said he was Ken Lott.  I hadn't seen him for about 30 years.  We had always been good friends and even worked together some.  He came in and visited for a couple of hours asking me about a lot of the old RHS gang.  Unfortunately about half of them were dead but it was great to see him.  He said to tell everyone hello.  His wife was downtown shopping so he had to take off to pick her up.  Came by yesterday and we drove around looking at some houses.  They are considering buying a vacation home here..   One of the great things about living in Ruidoso is running into people from the past is always fun  .  MK

Two thoughts:
Bill Turley - good luck and God bless you on procedure! Charline said to Rex- "well said." I sure agree with her on that!

And for Don Ervin:I was aboard one of those "small boys" (destroyers) astern of Kitty Hawk. We sailed with her a lot in the Tonkin Gulf.
