One of the gifts of getting older is the recognition that every day is a gift and blessing and you should begin the day with a grateful heart.

What a wonderful time; to look back in your memories and see all the fantastic people who have crossed your path. The people in your youth who had faith in you and helped guide your journey. The friends from long ago that still when you think of them makes your heart happy. The things you achieved; but in your youth seemed out of reach and never to be. Looking back and seeing that you were loved and that God had been with you the entire journey even when you thought he wasn't!

Much love to all; Peace and most of all thank you! Thank you for crossing my path.

God's Blessings to all!

Dandy Don,

Speakin' 'o Dancin'...  I remember going to Mitchell's Pharmacy on North Main.  Mitchell's had a soda fountain and a juke box where kids danced Saturday afternoons on old wooden floors.  The 40's and 50's generation were real "hip".

The drug store had very good millk shakes too..  My mother and I used to walk from 10th street.to get one.  They served them in  a paper cone holder, but they gave you the metal mixer it was made in at the same.  You could fill the cone up a few times  Vanilla for my Mom Choclate for me.  Good Memoories

Happy birthday to all those in November.  How many remember that those great tasting shakes were made with raw eggs?  In this day and age, unheard of.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all you Novemberoids (you too, Rex!) ... hope that all had a great Halloween. My grandkids love it and it is fun to see all the kids out that dream up a costume rather than just get'em at Wallyworld.

John D. when I was working at the tastee freeze on North main (9th grade), we used to put an egg in the shakes and malts for an extra nickel. Made them creamy and noggy?? Peanut butter was my favorite flavor at the time.

John L., when growing up my mother mixed raw eggs in her ice cream  mix for the hand cranked mixer.  It seemed to make it freeze quicker than anybody else.  I worked in the snackbar at NMSU while in college and we would put eggs in the shakes unless asked not too.  My kids, grandkids, and great grandkids all think that it is a revolting bacterial choice, but like drinking from the hose, we all survived.
