Saundra Bennett (Whiteside)

I woul like to thank Rex and Marilyn for making the Gathering possible.  It wasn't easy in these crazy Covid times.  Finding restaurants with outdoor seating to accommodate our group was not an easy task!  Everything came together well, and we had a great time!  Thank you, too, to Alice and Mavk for sharing your green chili fries at Caliente Grill,  They were to die for!  Although we missed several of the regulars, It was wonderful seeing those who were able to make it again.  I'm already looking forward to next years Gathering!

Saundra,

Thanks for your kudos regarding the Gathering 2021!  I really appreciate it and sure Marilyn will as well!  My grandpappy used to say: "There is no such thing as a problem. Problems are only 'situations' waiting to be solved'!  Again, thanks to Marliyn for squeezing our group in at Grill Caliente Saturday evening. It was great to visit with friends... and the camaraderie was genuine!

Some of us good ole boys discussed the initiation hazing John L. may recieve at the next Gathering. That is... when he quits 'loitering' behind then-thar Inuit igloos way up north in "Ah'll Ask-her"...

I,too would like to join Saundra in expressing my sincere thanks to Marilyn & Rex for setting up the Ruidosa Gathering & finding such comfortable restaurants to meet our needs & help make it so easy for us that made it to partake in the comradire. It was wonderful to see everyone again after such a harsh year behind us. Many were sorely missed but so sppreciative of those who could make it and gather with us. Til next time, best wishes    in all you do.

Little delayed with wishing all in September  a happy birthday.  My wife, son and I all had covid and are now over it.  Glad everyone got to meet at the gathering.

I will echo John D in belatedly wishing all the Septemberites a Happy Birthday.

I am sure that Rex will be glad to know I am back ridge running in Tenner-sea as of yesterday afternoon (the 27 hour travel trip from Hades) and another long story in the age of covid...

So far I am adjusting to the jet lag and the 80 plus temps.cheeky

Sorry ta haf ta be the one ta tell ya this... but the G-men done trashed all yer granpappy's moonshine stills!  So fer sho, yo gonna be a hill-runnin' Tinnysea Ridge-runner and then some!

John L.  with all this monthy "happy birthday all y'all" jazz ... it appears you and John D. may be twins?  If So, how did you wind up with different last names...?   wink

John Landess

Well, Rex....

I can find no direct relationship between John D and myself.

I guess that "our" only excuse was that we were both raised with social graces and good manners, which of course, lead us both to be suave (swah-vuy) gentlemen!

Did Tom Mangam pass???? I am a little confused. Tom was a Sigma Nu brother at ENMU!

Darrell

It was misattributed to Tom Mangham.  The obit article was intended for John Madden. The web master will eventually make the correction.  Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

John L

What! Did you slip and forget to include the word debonair? Wasn't that you strolling down the hallways of RHS wearing a pair of button-up Levis, a T shirt, sporting a 1960's 'Ben Gazzara' Ascot...?

The Shadow Knows.... wink
