Johnny,

Is that #25 standing in the back right??? Or if this photo's too old... It might be his Dad!

I was born a long way from Roswell, but Dr. Steve Marshall was our go to doctor. Later, I used to caddie for him at RCC. We used to sneak in to RCC and swim in the old pool, dive for balls in the 'lakes' and later, take out the carts at 3 in the morning and race about in the back. Golfers used to wonder why they would run out of power on the back 9!!devil

I ended up working in the pro-shop for Bud Pierce my last year in Roswell ('61). He was pretty cool and ended up marrying some club member's daughter...what a shock to the membership!!!!!

Tommy,

Surely you jest !!!!!! The song is "A Rose and a Baby Ruth" by George Hamilton.......just as the picture depicts.

I was born in KC, MO, lived in Lexington....and moved to Roswell at 2 years of age when my Dad started teaching at NMMI.  My siblings were all born in Roswell.  Dr. Lander delivered them all, and was our family doctor for years.  My brothers and I wore him out with house visits to repair limb damage.

John L.  it would have to be his Dad, or have we decided that #25 is a hoax perpetrated by none other than that great dispenser of B.S............................

Johnny,

Could the great dispenser of BS... be anything close to our favorite "humble information dispenser" And justifiably so....?  Or could it be the perpetuator of  pictures of a Rose and a Baby Ruth... which later on became the Name of the Rose which developed into the War of the Roses...  By the way, John Fogerty said he was 'born on the bayou...'

After Mack Kizer's heroic efforts at last years Gathering to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that # 25 was in fact one Johnny Cole,( His case would have won in a civil suit )

I did some more research with the help of famed western author Zane Grey, and he believes that in fact # 25 is the great grand son of Brushy Bill Roberts. Apparently his family were nomads in SE New Mexico roaming from Tatum to Lovington and all over the Caprock and into West Texas in covered wagons. Because of their anti-social behavior and solitary actions, they were most likely behind the legend of The Caprock Demon. This according to Dr. Stanton Friedman.

However, there is little need to dredge up more speculation on # 25's identity.

Your Humble (and justifiably so ) and no BS disperser.

Love and peace on ya my brothers and sisterssmiley

Turley, that is too funny........

In order to win a civil lawsuit,  isn’t it true there are usually witnesses for both plaintiff and defendant?  Therefore, witnesses which are called on to testify in court or by an affidavit approved by the court for “Any” sort of litigation to get off the ground?  And isn’t it true on August 27, 2015 at Casa de Verde located at 105 Jarrett Drive, Rude Dosie, after Mack K gave a convincing argument that the enlarged pictures he took of our classmate Johnny Cole… showed Cole’s hair line and facial features appeared to be similar to the figment # 25 taken of our Sophomore basketball B team.

I too was curious, so I made a long distance telephone call to John Madden… former coach of the Oakland Raiders... now living in Amarillo, Texas.  John Madden of RHS is still best friends with Johnny Cole of RHS ’62.  Mr. Madden indicated Johnny Cole definitely was not # 25.  John Madden said Mr. Cole was a “studious” bookworm in high school and never played basketball.  Therefore if neither John Madden nor Johnny Cole are no-shows for Mr. Turley’s and Mr. K’s “civil theory"... Case is dismissed!  Court is adjourned.  Ha, ha, ha

For the record, Stanton Friedman is the ‘revered’ physicist who co-wrote  “Crash at Corona”  regarding the 1947 Roswell Incident.  And Fred Tucker told the reporters at Time Life magazine that he talked to "aliens" just about every other day.  Time Life reporters jumped on plane from NYC that day and immediately jetted to Roswell to witness these 'aliens.  Turley knows the rest of the story.

Keith, good to here from you, yes I can remember those days especially around March when the bass were spawning. Those were the care free days!!
Do you remember did #25 ever ketch any bass?

Oh my, Fred, loved your latest zip line video.....so funny!  I may have to add that to my bucket list since I am fascinated with both roller coasters and zip lines.  You and Harvey should come to the next Gathering and try 'The Windrider!'

I was born at St.Francis Hospital in Carlsbad, but all three of my younger sisters were born at St. Mary's.  All four of us had our tonsils taken out there.  Steve Marshall was our family Doc.

Turley, you need to tell us more about the Caprock Demon.  My Mom's family settled near the Caprock, and I don't remember hearing about that legend...
