This has certainly been a tough winter for both the class of 62 as well as the nation.

BUT, so far, we have all been mostly fortunate to last this long and we should appreciate that.

So, lets all look forward to spring, and live every day as if it is the last one.... be kind to all! and enjoy friends and family.

LIFE AS IT IS!!

STAY SAFE CLASSES OF RHS!!!

I am of the nature to grow old.
There is no way to escape growing old.

I am of the nature to have ill health.
There is no way to escape ill health.

I am of the nature to die.
There is no way to escape death.

All that is dear to me and everyone I love
are the nature to change.

There is no way to escape
being separated from them.

My actions are my only true belongings.
I cannot escape the consequences of my actions.

My actions are the ground upon which I stand.

Thich Nhat Hanh

Well, first of all, Happy Birthday to all the Februarites...

And to keep all up to date:

I volunteered for the Russian Vaccine Trial for Covid-19. It's been kept very, very quiet for security reasons. I received my first shot and wanted to let you know that it’s completely safe with иo side effects whatsoeveя, and that I feelshκι χoρoshό я чувствую себя немного странно и я думаю, что вытащил ослиные уши.

ACTUALLY, I did have my first Covid Vaccine shot (Moderna) on the 1st, and no side effects. So, even with all the info floating around (mostly false) it is probably safe and recommended for us old folks. My oldest son, the trauma doctor recommended it. He has had both shots...

I join John L. in weshing all a happy birthday  Was beginning to think everyone was afraid covid would get them thru the  site.  I had the "flu" in feb last year before it was recognized as covid, was not nice.  John, the needles I've seen are so long they look like they go clear the arm and into the ribs.

John D.

I was with you on the LONG needles. I received my shot while in my vehicle (drive through) and I told the nurse that 'I had seen the shots being given on TV......and hoped in my old age with skinny arms, she didn't hit a bone'.

She just laughed while she was prepping my arm with alcohol, and then she was blowing on my arm. When I turned to peek at what she was doing, she was drying any extra alcohol and putting on the band-aid. (I don't watch shots, etc!!) Never felt a thing... next day my arm had kind of a tender spot, but after a couple of days, that was gone..... So, pretty much painless and no side affects with the 'moderna' ...

Now the wait for #2.... 30 days from #1 (and Rex, I am talking about the shot numbers!!!)

John L,

It takes a good ole boy Tennessee ridgerunner to volunteer for those Ruskie vodka shots... how long to get over the hangover?  Heard through the mis-information grapevine it'll give you bad case of hally-toe-sis. Antidote: Chew lots of Juicy Fruit gum! Now what's this?!! Are you the "marketing spokesman" for Mo durn-it?  Not to worry, about getting your commision...

Got my first Covid vaccine shot 2/2 (Pfizer), no side effects at all.  2nd shot is scheduled for 2/23, then 2 weeks to let immunity develop fully.  I am so relieved and thrilled!  Love to all.  Stay alive.  XOXOXOXOXOheart

John D.! I understand what you are saying! I had the "Flu" in February also and before they called it "Covid"! It was very rough! I actually am glad I did not know about Covid!

It's good to hear from all of you!  I received my 2nd Moderna vaccine Friday and didn't feel well Saturday but that went away and now I'm left with an extremely sore arm with a red welt about 1-1/2 x 3". I'm thankful to have gotten the vaccine but I will still be cautious as I'm out and about. Take care of yourselves.

I was going thru old papers and came across a poem my dad wrote when he was in his 70's, beginning to seem like it fits me now. " How am I" by Floyd Doyal.                                                                                                          I,m not round as a ring                                                                                                                                              Or rusted like a spring                                                                                                                                              Seventy-two years old -                                                                                                                                            Seventy-three in the spring,                                                                                                                                      One eye out,                                                                                                                                                              The other one glass,                                                                                                                                                  Two real cold feet,                                                                                                                                                    And hair that didn't last,                                                                                                                                            My stomach's bulged out,                                                                                                                                          My chest and mouth are caved in,                                                                                                                            But I'm looking dern good for the shape I'm in.                                                                                                      Best wishes for all getting thawed out.
