I don't understand all the advice for John telling him to do what Lynn tells him to do.  John has always done what Lynn tells him to do!

Thank you all for the support, but I REALLY do try not to tell him what to do too much!!!  (Of course that doesn't work but it sounds good!!)  Now we are at the point where he tells me what he needs and we go from there!!!  Honestly John is doing good!!!  Pain is better and he is already back on the computer so just get ready for what comes next!!!  :)

Hugs to you all!!!

Keith,

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your sister Sharon.   Tommy or his brother Cherry might know of some who went to school with her.  Didn't  Lloyd Taylor graduate in '56?

Rex

Rosie Hamlin was 15 years old in 1960 when she recorded "Angel Baby" in San Marcos California

The studio was owned by an "airplane mechanic" who had taken part of his hangar to make it!  The recording had a very simply sound, and was eventually slightly damaged from excessive playing, so the group was unable to find a record label company.  After taking the master to a department store, they convinced a manager to play it in the listening booth of the store's music department. The song received positive reactions from teenage listeners, and a scout from Highland Records offered the group a recording contract."

Rex I believe that Loyd Taylor, Richard and Robert Caywood, Kenneth Juicy Wright, and Mary Sue Cisco (RHS 61) husband  all graduated in 1954.  I do not know how to contact any of them.  Sorry

Keith, My cousin ran around with Robert Caywood and said the last he heard was that he was in Sun Valley, Idaho.  I'm so sorry about the loss of Sharon.  I hope this info helps.  Hugs, Pat

Lloyd was my football coach in 1960 and 1961. I don't know what happened to him that he was not there in 62.

Before practice Taylor would stand at the 50 yard line and drop kick field goals.  I lived on 10th a half block from the old stadium and thats where RHS practiced in those days 1953-54.  Those guys on that team were my heroes.  I thought Loyd Taylor was the fastest man alive.  The best recievers in the world Juicy Wright and Wyman Akins..  Richard Caywood taught me how to punt bare footed.  I didn't have shoes so he took his off to show me how.  I would meet him at the park swimming pool and get on his back and we would do one and halfs off the high dive.

I may be wrong maybe some one could correct me.  I seem to remember that his father ran the Bottomless Lakes.  I watched him go off the cliffs many times, but he wouldn't let me.  I was nine years old.  My Dad worked out there for a while.  So I was out there a lot.

When Taylor was at Texas A&M the other running was one of the greatest of all time.  John David Crow.

Tommy when I played Jr High football I wore a pair of used soccer shoes to play in.  When I tried out for the RHS JV team I wore a pair of tennis shoes.  Sherman Pruitt saw my shoes and ask where my cleats were and I told him I couldn't afford them so I just wore the tennis shoes.  The next day he cam in and handed me a pair of black high top cleats. They were kangaroo leather and he had worn them when he played for the broncos.  I kept those shoes until I started coaching and then I gave them to player that needed some shoes.  As I said those guys were my heroes.  Pruitt is Billy Fords brother inlaw.

Don I don't remember my first cleats. I was 5 years old playing full uniform football in Amarillo. I played  5 years before I moved to Roswell. When I got here I had to buy my shoes. I remember going to Bill Deans expecting to get my shoes free just like in Amarillo. Well I don't remember what the price was but I had to go home and get the money. My mom took me back and she had just enough money to pay for them. I played for Gulf Pride for two years and then South. If I rememeber right we got free shoes at South. I remember buying shoes again at Bill Deans sometime in HI School.
