Ferrell Dunham

Yes, he is the son of coach Dewey Johnson. He also wrote the novel "Summer of Champions:" about a young boy growing up in Roswell in the 50's.

Dewey Johnson (Class of 1964)  in his book "Summer of Champions",  wrote about Roswell's "1956 Little League All Stars" who won the "World Series" in Williamsport, Pa.

Ferrell Dunham, Tommy Jordon, Jimmy Valdez, Harold Hobson, Bill Turley, Blaine Stribling, and others from the 1956 Baseball Champs were honored at the 'Heritige Dinner' sponsored by the Southeastern New Mexico Historical Society about eight years ago.  Was a super turn out... a great crowd of young and older fans!

My first guess regarding the young boy in the picture with Joe Bauman would be Billy Ward (Billy played Little League baseball in Carlsbad, then moved to Roswell and played ball). Then of course it could be Guy Bevill, and/or Don Gadberry.

Anyone else who would like to take a stab at it?!!

Sherry Hester (Trasp)

I'm here! Just finished a family reunion!
This year was my turn to host. I have 3 siblings.
Our Sister is 91, I am 81,
1 brother 79, the other, 74.
I planned it here in Roswell!
We had a wonderful time.
Only half of our family was able to make it.
I was exhausted when it was over.
I will share a couple of pictures.

What has everyone else done.
It is those Lazy Hazey Dayz of Summer.

Sorry, had to take timeout to get hernias that I didn't know about surgicated on.  Everything went well and am doing fine.  Now I'm meshed up inside.  Sherry can you rattle off everyones name in the picture, my family is also large and I have trouble remembering all the names, especially those I only get to see once every few years, for some reason the kids tend to grow.

... And a gold medal for firing a gun "without pulling the trigger..."

Fred, if your gender answer is 'tasteful',  post it.

Rex, my definition of "tasteful" and that of others may not always be alike, so I shall just refrain...

A similar 'definition' was made back in '95 by Bill Clinton. Clinton when questioned about his relationship with Lewinksy, Clinton said: "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is'... is".  Earning him the moniker, "Slick Willy".

Found an interesting website...Postmodern Jukebox.  Todays hits yesterday.  they take a popular song today and perform it in a vintage 20s,  30s etc. style...Ezamples....

Fred,

Your 1930's video version of 'Thriller' proves how imaginative those songwriters are to take a 1980's video and give it a 1930's  sound!.  Very creative! Thanks for posting!

One of the videos I found on that "Post Modern Jukebox" revealed this...

In 2013 Ellie Goulding did a song called "Burn".  In the following video the song is given a "1960's sound" performed by three ladies!
