I left the west coast to get away from rain and fog.  It rains so much in Northern Cal, 'gills' start growing on both sides of your neck.   Glad Roswell got some moisture though.   Hoo-aah!

The weather in New Mexico and Colorado is beginning to remind me of Oklahoma....seems like it is all or nothing.  Mother Nature can be quite the drama queen in OK!   Parts of the state have gotten more rain in one day than all last year.  We are holding our breath and crossing our fingers for May to pass without any major tornadoes....just one more week to go.  In the meantime, we've been having earthquakes that are increasing in frequency.  There were 7 in one day last week!  Most are 2 and 3 pointers, but still disconcerting...

Carolyn Edwards (Vassel)

Oh, Saundra!  It doesn't sound very fun to live in Oklahoma!  But, now days there really isn't a perfect place that is void of catastrophes .  Miss you, friend.  We are living in Germany for the next 14 months.  We will need to get together when we get back

Saundra,

Some speculate the earthquakes in OK Corral are caused by fracking and horizontal drilling.  California folks yawn at a 4 to 5 pointer and sleep right through it.

Herer's one by Chuck Berry to help you "Rock 'n Roll" right on through to the next ones...  just kiddin' ya.    ~ T-Rex

Johnny,

The long legs were easy to slide into Tommyy's Bird.  It was the size 16 (Li'l Abner) boots that got hung up in the doorway.  Entry was all technique.  Once in  it's a nice fit .. plenty of leg room kinda like those over-sized caskets Tommy and Johnny sell on E-bay...

Tommy your T-Bird is a great ride!!   How bout a trade for my Ford Ranchero?

Cari,

Nice to hear from you...miss you, too!  What a great experience to be able to spend an extended period of time in Germany.  You should post some pictures for your classmates.  Looking forward to seeing you the next time you are in the OKC area!

T-Rex,

I must have sounded like a "fraidy cat" with that last post.  Actually, we Okies are pretty brave and resilient.  We yawn and sleep through the average tornado sirens...it's the F-5's that get our attention.  Bet you couldn't sleep through one of those!  Thanks for the Chuck Berry "Rock 'n Roll" concert!  Music makes everything mo bettah...

Smooth moves getting into Tommy's T-Bird, and nice time lapse photography.  By the way, how long did it take you to get those size 16 boots inside that bird?  Just kiddin' ya....ha!

Rex I remember going to the circus when I was just a lad.  I saw a clown climb into a little car just like you climbed into Tommy's Bird. If he had hit a bump your knees would have knocked you out.  Did they use a shoe horn to get you out?

WB,

That explains everything....I can see clearly now.  It was Perrine's fault!! You were "Mr. Innocent," of course.  Now you think you can play the flattery card and get out of this.  I do appreciate the compliment, though,...you are on the right track...

~ AO

I wonder who Tommy wanted to send this song to, got any ideas Saundra.

Loved the music and it was much needed today. We have had one storm after another roll through. We are  now officially caught up for the year. Each wave seems to drop about 2 additional inches and we have had about two a day roll through for the last 4 days. More to come through the weekend.  My house backs up to the nineth green on our golf course and we have officially claimed the name of Lee Lake here. Thankfully it drains down fast before the next wave comes through.

Off now to see if I can help with the aid for folks burned out of their apartment complex this morning. Trouble often comes in threes and don't want to see locust on the horizon any time soon.

Tommy,

On a clear day you can see forever...ha!

WB,

After some thoughtful introspection, and a sudden flood of clarity, you will be happy to know that you are "officially off the hook!"  It's ok you didn't remember me from 6th grade in your tag bio.  We're cool now!

Respectfully,

~AOK

Sandra,

Hope you get some relief from the rain soon.  The weather has been crazy lately.

By the way, very nice job on your paintings!  You are very talented. Looking forward to seeing you and Billie at the "Gathering" this summer!

Sherry,

Welcome aboard...nice hearing from you!

AOK  aka.. Saundra,

After some deep thought which is way beyond my capablities,  I spoke with WB and he said you'd probably fergit sayin' he was "off the hook" and you might bring it up again at the August reunion.  Should we do a show and tell (now) about the girl in the 6th grade who who dressed like a little "Mor- - -" girl..?  or shall we wait till August to have the fun.   If so,  WB sez ta bring yer picture...  Ain't we havin' a ball?   wink

Don's favorite Coca-Cola plant on North Main.  Don Did you know my Mom who worked in the office with Tom Denton?

The Barrel Rootbeer stand on West 2nd.  In the '40's my folks enjoyed going there before A&W came into vogue.   There is a Barrel House in Bakersfield which John L.  and I patronized a few times while in town, but they wouldn't serve us root beer there...  Merle the Pearl played at the Barrel House and at the Black Board.

Rex I didn't come to work until 3 pm and I worked on the dock so I didn't get to see office folks.  I got off work at 10 pm.  Thought for five minutes about doing my homework then took off for Greers  Got home by 12 and then did my homework.  I was not a honor student until I went to college.  I found out that if I studied I could make a good grade.  Until took me 14 years of school to figure that out.

Don,  some of us are fast learners and others are not... I'm still tryin' ta figure out which one is the best.  Does a fast learner keep the knowledge or does a slow learner retain more because one  made the time to fully digest the information.  I'm sure your Cuz Turley and John L. could expound upon it in more depth...

History tidbit for the lovelorn.  Plato was told his wife was suspected of an affair with his best friend.  When Plato heard about it he decided since he wasn't having very good luck with women... to become... a philosopher.

I would say that one must separate learning from inspiration. Learning in general comes from some length of study, thought, consideration and exposure, while inspiration tends to come in some flash of clarity, out of the clear blue and in some cases a stroke of genius. In general and in most cases it is necessary for the two to co exist. As an example, preparation H was sheer genius but what happened to preparations A through G ???

My POV(probably obstructed view) fro my little corner of the world.

WBH o' TPL, NM....AKA:  Rex

After heedful thought and some serious soul searching, I spoke with AOK. She said that if memory serves her correctly, it was WB that brought up the 6th grade deal at the last "Gathering."  So what's your point about the 6th grade pitcha?  Are you tryin' to provide proof that AOK was not memorable?  Just a word of advice, if you want to get "off the hook," it may not be a good idea to muddy the waters during this period of clarity...

~AOK o' OKC, OK....AKA:  Saundra

AOK  Annie Oakley,

Speaking of muddy waters, in Roswell, haven't seen much in the Hondo River. Mos 'o itz on da banks 'o da Mississippi Rivah.  Isn't this about as clear as mud..?  wink

I think it would be real neat for you to bring your 6th grade picture taken at Edgewood to our August reunion.  It's an adorable picture of a cute li'l girl.  My, my how you've bloomed into a beautimous lady.

Now, If you'll let me have the street number of your old house on Pear, I'll take a picture and send it to you.  I'll even take one of our 6th grade teacher's house, Mrs. Jackson before someone sets fire to it.  That should score some additional "points"!

How'm Ah doin' so fahr...?
