Don Ervin

I will start it off.  Got this from Cherry Smith Ford class of 63.  It is a Pineapple Casserole and goes great with ham.

1C Sugar, 6 T Flour, 2 C grated sharp cheddar, 2 (20 oz)  cans pineapple chunks drained and 6 T pineapple juice reserved, 1 C Ritz cracker crumbs and 8 T (1 stick) butter, plus extra for greasing pan.

Preheat oven to 350.  Grease medium size Casserole dish with butter.

In a large bowl stir together sugar and flour.  Gradually stir in cheese.  Add the drained pineapple chunks and stir until well combined.  Pour into prepared casserole dish.  In a bowl, combine cracker crumbs melted butter and reserved pineapple juice. Spread crumb mixture over top of casserole.  Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.  Enjoy

Don,

I copied the recipe for the Pineapple Casserole that you posted.  I rarely cook anymore but that sounds good.

We ladies bring up old times when we're together but those memories would be way too hot for you guys to handle so we don't share them on the Message Forum!

Don Ervin

I think you will like the casserol.

As for the info being to hot I would remind that that most of the guys are about 70 years old.  So I am sure they can handle it.  Unless it is so hot it could cause a coronary.  What did you do Pat?  You need to share.  Chicken

Don, I can't say anything for Charlotte, but I guarantee that it wasn't me!!!  I think you must be dreaming, over thinking "stuff" or just getting older like the rest of us!!!!!

I also agree with Pat Sullins ~ we may talk about our past "episodes" but unlike some of you guys, we don't put "everything" out there.  Actually we don't put "anything" out there. :) What happened in high school, stays in high school AND is still there!!!

Look forward to seeing you in June!

Hugs, Lynn

I bet Lynn had a hand in the front page.

I'm going to say it was Linda Dumas!  Does it count if I fess up that I saw her post this on Facebook?  Honesty should count for something....right?

05/19/14 07:26 AM #1124

John Allensworth

You got it right Saundra, and after much deliberation the rules committee has ruled that it's OK  you saw it some place else.  Congrats.

Bill Turley does a humorous demonstration using only a corkscrew.  Let's ask him to do it at our next "Gathering" this August.  The act covers everything from a "Hold up in NYC to Mark Spitz".  It's Hilarious!   Like Justin Wilson said:  "I'll guarantee"

Speaking of corkscrews, the corkscrew machine video is a contraption by Rue Goldburg who also needed professional help....

Saundra Bennett (Whiteside)

Thank you, John!  Please tell the rules committee that I am very grateful for their decision....yea!!!  It reinforces my belief that "honesty IS the best policy."

Rex, are you saying that Rue Goldberg had to have some "loose screws" in order to remove those "loose corks?"

Turley, we will look forward to your demonstration at the "Gathering" this summer!

I was visiting the home page and listening to that song. I just want to thank all those lovely ladies for bringing a lot of sunshine into my life. ( one or two more than others)

Rex did misquote me, what I said was "peace on you all"

And just to clarify.... the day time is for sleeping, golfing, playing and going to the casino, night time is for playing and going to the casino. Also it is good to keep your eyes closed as much as possible in the sunlight to avoid UV damage to the retina.

Billy, now that I am approaching middle age, I understand the sleep thing. A man has to save himself for the important things in life....

Dandy Don contributed a neat pineapple caserole recipe and the ladies loved it.

I have been remise in posting pictures for the ladies and... uhh, us gents who enjoy botanical "thangs".. Here are beautimous Iris blossomed just before and during Mother's Day, and only appeared for a week.   From Mom's house.

Notice the white albino butterfly (bottom left)  attracted to the Iris.

Part Two -

The white butterfly appears to be very protective of  her Iris

This plant is on the driveway side of Mom's house.

Do anyone know the name this plant?   Thanks.

Saundra Bennett (Whiteside)

Rex, thanks for posting pictures of the "beautimous" flowers.  Love the colors of the Iris and the delicate butterfly!  How apropos that they bloomed during Mother's Day.  We had white Iris this spring, with yellow butterflies!  I think the last flower is called "Yellow Bird."

Danny Cathey

The plant you asked about is a desert bird of paradise (Bird-of-paradise Shrub-Caesalpinia gilliesii).  I have a couple here at the house.  The iris is an old one, maybe "Ramese" ?

05/20/14 03:49 PM #1135

Rex Booth

Saundra & Danny,

Thanks for naming the bird of paradise.   Yes,  Dan, the Rameses sounds about right.  They were planted when the house was built in 1948.   Didn't know bulbs could survive that many winters.

Saundra you will have to post those white Iris flowers and yellow butterflies this coming year!

Later Alligators

It rained enough that it almost got the pavement wet, but we did get a pretty double rainbow.

This is what 4 inches of rain will do, looking at the spring river where it crosses Montana.

My Roswell friends, I got 6" of rain at my house in 4 hours. Much more rain expected this weekend. Maybe big flood again in Loveland!
