Of course you are speaking of Linda Ingram (nee) of Arizon.  Happy Birthday Linda!  It seems that the best birthday seem to always be on.  Feb. 24th.

Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday.  I believe I am now of age to run for office in the Old Farts Club.  I won't run for Pres. as Tommy Weathers has a life time appointment to that office.  Nor run for Veep. as John Allensworth also has a life time appointment. Can't run for Sec. of Info., Cuz alreday has that job.  I was thinking of running as the Sec. of Weights and Measures.  I could do beauty contests.  If I can just find our cloth tape.

I got it done today.  I went and got my shingles vaccine.  Shingles are very painful and can be long lasting. The shot used to cost about $240.00 and was not covered by medicare.  Now if you have a secondary insurence plan to go with your medicare it covers all of it.  Gitter Done!

Belated Happy Birthday Don! I wrote on FB but don't know if you received! It's good to get that shingles vaccine! I had shingleds in 1996 after my son was on a horrible accident in Vegas! Hope u enjoyed your day!

John Landess

I never got shingled...the nails hurt too much, but I did get the shot anyway!

ANOTHER important shot is the new pneumonia shot (Prevnar 13). It is more important than the flu shot (if you don't get that). My oldest son (the doctor) says most folks who pass on with the flu is due to the fact they developed pneumonia, although there are other causes.... so get the shot.

Of course, with my 40 year old body.....( just kidding Rex)... I now recognize that I am closer to 44!winkI have few concerns!!!!!

Ray,

Thanks for  posting the link regarding Louise Kling.  Louise was a very nice lady.

El John,  Here's an "out-of-the-blue" observation for ya...

Many noticed you choose the text color "blue" when you post on the forum.  I've heard of folks who sign letters with a blue ink pen to make their signature and content appear more trustworthy.  Is the reason you choose the color blue because you think RHS peeps will lend more crediblity to your words when written in blue? Even the great poet Bob Dylan articulated his poem warning about the dangers of being "tangled up in blue".      crying

Could the picture be the Municipal Airport Building on North Montana...?  The city just did a complete demolish of the old aiport buiding and tower to make room for "another" soccer (er ah futbol) field... to keep the local natives happy.

Thank you kindly kindly!   Many landmarks from our youth are slowly disappearing.... sob  crying

Rex,

I am glad that you (many others???) noticed that I use BLUE. Of course, I am trustworthy and always credible even if I didn't use BLUE.

But the main reason I use it and this can be verified by our other phychologist classmates is that BLUE  and green are soothing colors and can relieve stress and internal upset when dealing with persons that may cause such feelings, either in personal meeting, or by email or other sources.

NOW Rex, I hope that you don't take this personally!!!! I am sure that I did not mean it that way!!!devil

ps.. I like blue and it is easy to read on my old computer screen... but if needed I can use some other color as I have 64 to choose from??????

I may even go to GREEN  for Saint Patties Day when I make my 'world famous corned beef and cabbage'. I also may break out the Redbreast 21 Year Old (single pot still, non chill filtered), a truly excellent Irish whiskey, although Midelton is also pretty good.

pps...Bob Dylan was known to use mind altering drugs (which may have been a relief after leaving Hibbing, Minnesota and changing his name from Zimmerman)....so his thoughts might have been "blowing in the wind".

Happy Birthday to all this month and that includes John A... I hope that Lynn fixes him a big chocolate cake and gives him a day off from taking care of this great RHS site!!!

BTW John, Loved the photo of the old Jinglebob Drive In. My folks owned 5 lots across the road (North Prairie) from my ninth grade on. Unfortunately, it had already closed, so no free movies to watch. Some boys that lived further down the road used to climb up inside of screen building and catch young pigeons for their family to eat. I thought that pretty gross until years later in Europe when I found 'squab' to be delicious.

El Juan  aka: Non-ookie of the North,

Wow !!  It's the Annual “Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race”!  A grueling 1000 mile trek taking 9-10 days from Willow to Nome!  El Juan, I looked for you and your team of huskies at the start in Anchorage using the sky cam but wondered why you weren’t mushing your doggies down the Iditarod trail.  Did your 44 year old body give out on you while imbibing on that fine Irish whiskey?  It’s too bad but ya needsta show a little more intestinal fortitude and wait at least until St. Paddy’s day ta start posting in 'green'.  Since the main ‘color’ along the sled trail will be snow white, you could always use ‘white’ or even a “whiter shade of pale” for the font color in your posts.  T'wud be a soothing change and appear very white of you.  Glad to hear you know a little bit about Bobby Zimmerman. Why don’t you do a dissertation on the meaning of “Maggie’s Farm"  to our classmates...

Ah!  The Mark Howell school on College. Could one bet a wooden nickle Johnny A and Dandy Don went there?  How bout all the Allen brothers, Jerry Floyd, and the infamous hole in the wall gang.

Can you think of others who attended school there?

Meanwhile, back at the ranch... Can anyone name this old building in Roswell?

El Juan,  according to movie theatre.org  they say the Jinglebob was opened in 1945 with these owners:

1945 Theatre Enterprises,   1961-1967 Frontier Theatres, Inc,   1967-1969 Commonwealth Theatres, Inc.

Re: drive-in theaters. I know we had three Starlite on SE Main, the one one the base highway, and one on the north side of town. One was the Jinglebob and the other was the Ball-a-Jac. The Starlite and the one on the base highway were both open when we were at RHS. I don't think I ever went to the one on the North side of town so I have no idea when it closed. I do belive the one on the base highway was the Jinglebob.

You guys will have to look it up.

Just checked with our unofficial class historian # 2 at the SE New Mexico Historical Society and the City Directory for the following theatres states:

Ball-o-Jak   (Base highway)   3100 South Main   1955 -1980   500 cars

Jingle Bob:   800 E. Country Club   1945- 1969   305 cars

When Gabe Kaplin asked Vinnie a question, Vinnie would say:  Whhaaaaaaa!!??

I only got to go to Mark Howell in the 1st grade.  At the time, we lived by NMMI where my Dad taught Math.

My Dad built the house at 605 East 5th by himself over 2 summers.....and we moved there, and I started the 2nd grade at Edgewood Elementary..  We loved that house on 5th St.
