Oh, John, I haven't been reading Rex's stuff.....main reason is I don't understand most of it!  I think I just may be too dumb.  I'm not sure if he's coming back to Roswell or if that's a TALL tale made up by someone although he did give good details about a "moving" party!

Except the ADDRESS!!!

HAS anyone notified the Roswell P.D. that Rex is moving back to Roswell, It might not be a problem, as all the old Sheriff & Roswell P.D. officers have retired, so he might be safe.

Pat when Rex tells you something you know that it the truth, because the devil made him do it.  Look over your shoulder next week he will be there.

Johnny there seems to be some misconception on your behalf.  First, I never said that Clark was still playing at RHS.  Second, a couple of Sunday School Boys like me and Roy would never put that vile brew in our mouths to let it steal our tongues.  Third,  as I recall we gave it to some our friends from the class of 62.  Fourth, they did make a spectacle of themselves.

John Allensworth

Misconceptions? Me! I know that is hard to believe!

The only part of your discourse that is believable, is the part about the class of '62, lot of rowdies in that group.

My old grandaddy always said "boy,(he called me boy cause I don't think he ever knew my name) if your being run out of town, get up front and make it look lika a parade".

On a second note Ferrell Dunham did tell me that Tommy Clark was a teacher and probably a coach in a small NM town (he couldn't remember the name of the town)and died quite a few years ago.Probably related to the hepatitis he had in high school.

John A.,Don and Roy would never drink such stuff. They probably gave it to me and you!!  ha ha or maybe Mike Fowler.

Pat, don't let the boyahs pull any wool over yer eyes.  Just arrived in Wilcox, Harry Zona.  Stayin' in their best Five Star Motel 6. .Should be in Las Cruces Tuesday and after Noisy River will be all down hill to 6 mile hill.

Tis true,I am coming back to my roots. Kinda like Lamar Burton tried to do as Kinte Kunte...or vise vesa. (less of course the chains...)

All those naysayers who claim they don't unnerstand me are just plain jealous...Just because the "Voices Speak" only to me and Turley.  And as Billy Graham would say: "Yayus....It's in the Book"  You'll find the "Word" in Revelations chapter 21: verses 1 - 4.   That was my Sunday sermon yesterday.  Harken unto thee.

~ Elmer Gantry

PS  Pat I will give everybody the address when the volunteers start pouring in....you sure you; are old enough to partake of the golden nectar called "Ta-kill-ya"?   Let the good times roll!

Mostly behind the eight ball....pool hall, picking up the pennys Weaver threw away in the parking lot.

According to our unofficial class historian Turley, Weaver hated pennies.

Welcome home, Rex.  Sorry I missed out on all the fun but I never did know the ADDRESS!  I would have brought you some cookies to go with your tequila!

Rex- Glad to hear that you slipped through AZ and back to UFO Central. That was an ambitious move. My move to town (13 miles) seems to be never-ending. Am I correct in thinking your home will be the new party center for the area, for visiting '62 alums????

By the way, I think Tommy Clark was in class of '59. But can't remember much else....duh

Anyone out there remember the guy who went to NMMI for a year in 1960, then on to the Naval Academy. Later he was supposed to be a fair football player.

John L. are you thinking of the individual that played for Denver, if it is he passed away years several ago.

04/24/14 12:53 PM #1032

Billy Turley

You are both kinda right

NMMI guy was Roger Staubach played quarterback for Dallas Cowboys.....hall of famer and superbowl winner.

The guy who played for Denver who passed away was Paul "Chick" Smith" RHS '63 or maybe "64  # 70 Denfese tackle went to UNM. He was on my and Johnny A and Roy Allen's LL football team with his brother Manual. Finished his career with the Washington Redskins(over the hill gang)

Pat,  I'm flying Southwest back  to San Jose to get my boat and haul it back to Roswell. Some Roswell boys are talking about a fishing trip possibly Navajo Lake near the Colorado border.  Hope to drop in on Sheriff Joe and take him for a boat ride down the Colorado River in Havasu.  When I get back, you can bring those tasty cookies.  Yummy!  Mouth is starting to water already...

That's a deal, Rex.  You better be careful taking this bunch of guys out on a boat.....they'll probably sink it!  Be safe on your trip!

REX ask Sheriff Joe, where my receipt is for the  $1.00 I sent for his campaign isdevil

Billy....3 points. Roger it was. He was my son Steve's idol. In fact, when Soldotna opened it's first high school, Steve got his fellow jocks to get the team name 'Stars" and their football uniforms identical to the Cowboys. Steve went to USNA ('88) and got to meet Staubach when he came through to give a speech.

Rex, if you do any fishing at Elephant Butte, watch out for the lake monster!!!! reputedly at least 2 feet long!

John L.

It makes mah haht swell wif pride... allus yo good ole boys alweys tryin' ta hep me out.

Not to worry, we caught the Loch Ness Monster last year on the Delta near Bullfrog twin sloughs.  The Lockie measured 24 foot.  Have applied to the Guiness World Book of Records....  I understand Navajo Lake near the Colorado border has reported (according to  'Peter the Fishermen' types there is a rainbow trout which is a mere 8 and one half feet long!  Sorta matches Fellini's 8 -1/2  Eye-talion movie made in the '60's ... Can you dig it?

Roger Staubach and my brother were good friends at NMMI and later after Staubach retired from the Cowboys.  Staubach use to come to my house when he and Cherry were at NMMI. Cherry and Staubach did some deals in real estate after Staubach retired from the Cowboys ( back when the Cowboys could play ball ). Staubach was as nice a person as you could ever meet.
